Internationale onderscheiding voor architect Marie-José Van Hee

In het juryverslag wordt gewezen op haar grote bijdrage in de sector van de woningbouw en haar streven naar een tijdloze bouwkunst gericht op de mens, het licht en de ruimte. Van Hee bouwde veel woningen en ontwierp het Modemuseum in Antwerpen. Samen met Robbrecht & Daem architecten is zij de ontwerper van de stadshalle en de heraanleg van de centrumpleinen in Gent.
"Although known primarily for her domestic buildings her public projects also shape a humanistic vision of architecture and the city, of public space as meeting place. Marie-José Van Hee explores a tradition of building timeless architecture, centred on people, light and space. Marie-José has long been connected with the Architecture Department of Sint-Lucas School of Architecture, is currently visiting professor at the ETH Zurich and has lectured throughout Europe."
